(Corona, Calif.) DECRA Roofing Systems, Inc., the original stone coated steel roofing manufacturer with over 50 years of experience, announces sponsorship of the historical restoration project for the Red Antiquities Building in London, ON. The Red Antiquities Building restoration team chose local roofing company Courtney Roofing Ltd. to install the product because of the past success Courtney has had when installing DECRA profiles on other structures in the London, ON area. The DECRA roofing panels were delivered to the project site by regional distributor, Copp’s Buildall.

The sponsorship, fostered by local community outreach agencies Pathways Skill Development and the Heritage London Foundation, will equip the Red Antiquities building with a DECRA Stone Coated Steel Roof. The DECRA profile chosen by the restoration team, DECRA Shake XD®, will give the roof the look of hand-split shake, without the worry or maintenance that traditional wood shake requires. With the winter weather conditions of Southwestern Ontario, the Red Antiquities Building restoration team can be rest-assured the DECRA Shake XD® roof will protect the building from freeze/thaw conditions, high winds, and hail damage.

Beyond its beauty and speed of installation, the DECRA profile is light and will not cause strain on existing roof beams; retaining the historical components original to the structure when it was first built. In the case of the Red Antiquities Building, the restoration team sought out a product that would help them protect the building, without damaging the integrity of the building structure.

“We are pleased with the traditional look and added protection that DECRA Shake XD® provides the Red Antiquities Building,” stated Paul Hubert, Executive Director, Pathways Skill Development. Hubert continued, “it was so easily and quickly installed, the project seemed to be over as soon as it started.” To find out more about the Red Antiquities Project, visit www.redantiquitiesbuilding.com and follow the Back from the Brink project on Facebook.
