The SB Newman house at the corner of Scott and Glennwood is a Barber, Its is illustrated in the Barber publication and even some interior shots. The house behind
it at Okla. and Glenwood is also a mr.b design. 505 scott is a Getaz. His last daughter
was still alive when we lived nextdoor. She came to visit the old neighborhood and came up on our porch and had a good size glass of our braced ice tea and told us all about living there and what it looked like originally before the neo classic colums were added. I wish the owners would take it back like it was at one time.......

Clarification: Eagle-eyed George Barber fans pointed out a couple of inaccuracies in our story on the mail-order architect. We identified Barber as having lived at 1724 Washington Ave.; while Barber designed this house, he never lived there. (In addition to 1635 Washington, he called 1701 East Glenwood home.)

Also, the house on page 68 attributed to Barber [this photo was not posted online] was in fact designed by David Getaz, a lesser-known Barberesque Knoxville architect.
