The Basket Weave design is wonderful. I put down a parquet flooring myself last year and chose a herring bone design. This seemed easier ( I admit I was scared of messing it up). It was all reclaimed hardwood.

I loved my mediuim-colored hardwood floors in parts of my house when it was new nine years ago. However, I’d like to replace my family room’s carpet with hardwood but now like a much darker shade of stain. I’m wondering how difficult and messy it would be to have the existing floors stripped and restained darker, at the same time the new floor goes down.
