The Arts and Crafts movement is a period of time from the late 1890s-1920s. This era was a sociological revolution—a change of feeling and mood in the country about how industrialized life had become. This movement was powered by luminaries like William Morris in England and Gustav Stickley who spoke against the over-industrialized life. The country began to embrace homes built with simple and honest in construction material.

In this video of the "Building with History" series, Brent Hull takes you inside a bungalow house built by Charles Butcher. All of the millwork within the home was available in the catalogs that actually reside in this home.
